Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly among a host of Premier League clubs chasing Bayer Leverkusen bomber Victor Boniface.
The two clubs were recently embroiled in a battle for the services of Bayern Munich teenager Mathys Tel, and many believed Spurs in particular were very close to sealing the deal. Nevertheless, there has been a major turnaround in recent hours, with the 19-year-old striker now set to stay at the Allianz Arena at least until the end of the season.
So according to TBR, Man Utd and Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Aston Villa have been offered the opportunity to sign Boniface who was on the verge of sealing a mega-money transfer to Al-Nassr in recent days.
Nevertheless, the 24-year-old’s transfer to Riyadh collapsed due to an injury, as the Saudi Pro League giants didn’t wish to wait for his recover, so they opted to go for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and pair him up with Cristiano Ronaldo. Hence, the source claims Boniface’s agents have been working on a rapid solution, and they’re hoping to find their client a new home in the Premier League.
The Nigerian striker joined Leverkusen in the summer of 2023 and immediately cemented himself as a pillar in Xabi Alonso’s all-conquering team last season. However, injuries have limited his playing time this term, so he only made 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals in the process.
Nevertheless, All Nigeria Soccer denies this report, insisting that Boniface is happy to stay with the reigning Bundesliga giants until the end of the season.
Therefore, it remains to be seen if any changes will be made in Man Utd’s attacking department before the end of the transfer session, as all eyes remain on Marcus Rashford whose destiny remains anyone’s guess.
