Norway versus Denmark produced one of the most exciting Nations League fixtures in recent memory.

Manchester United fans watching that game will surely have taken note of Patrick Dorgu‘s performance.

The five-goal thriller kept football fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

Deployed on the right wing, the Red Devils’ number thirteen impressed throughout.

He is not the most skilful dribbler, nor the sharpest in one-on-one situations, but his crossing posed a real threat.

He kept delivering the dangerous, whipped balls you expect from a proper winger, and as always, his work rate stood out.

His decision-making on the right flank was excellent too.

Danish media react to Dorgu’s performance against Norway

A few months ago, suggestions emerged that Dorgu and his entourage believe the right wing is his best position. They may well be onto something, and Danish outlet Bold.dk appeared to agree in their reaction to the 21-year-old’s display in Denmark’s 3-2 loss to Norway.

They wrote: “The goals didn’t come from him, but Patrick Dorgu was a thorn in the side of the Norwegian defence several times.

“It suited Denmark to have the Manchester United player so far up the pitch on the right side, and he looks like a man who is here to stay in that position.”

A performance to build on

Three chances created, one shot on target, 91 per cent pass accuracy, six tackles and 62 touches: Dorgu had a fine game.

He will hope to build on that display, as it could well lay the foundation for a resurgence following a difficult start to the season.
