Man United could use Waldemar Anton

They could use more depth at the back, especially now that they have secured Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign. They will be up against world-class attacking players, and they need quality defenders at their disposal.

The 29-year-old has shown his quality in Germany, and he has the physicality for English football as well. He could help Manchester United improve defensively. Apart from his quality as a central defender, he is a leader in the dressing room and could help Manchester United on and off the pitch.

“Waldi is a leader – a quiet leader,” Niko Kovac said (h/t SportWitness). “Not someone who seeks the limelight, but someone who does his job behind the scenes, both internally and on the pitch. He’s a true professional through and through”.

Meanwhile, the German club values him highly, and they might not want to sell the 29-year-old this summer. Manchester United will have to put forward an attractive proposal to get the deal done.

Aston Villa also keen on Anton

Meanwhile, they will face competition from Aston Villa. The West Midlands club will be competing in the Champions League next year, and they need to improve at the back. They were quite vulnerable defensively in the Premier League this season. Anton could help them tighten up at the back.

Both clubs have the resources to pay a premium for the 29-year-old defender, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
