Man United vs Nottingham Forest lineup prediction: the return of Mason Mount

Ruben Amorim takes his Manchester United side to the City Ground, Nottingham on Saturday hoping to make it four wins out of four in the Premier League.

With no new injuries having been reported as of yet, the chances are that the boss will field a fairly similar side to the one that put four goals past Brighton last weekend.

Defence

The impressive 22 year old, Senne Lammens, will almost certainly continue in goal.

If Harry Maguire has returned from injury, it is possible he will come in to the back three for Leny Yoro. Amorim might view Maguire as the ideal man to combat Forest centre forward, Chris Wood.

However, it seems touch and go whether the United man will be fit enough, so he may not be risked. We have therefore predicted the back three will stay the same – Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw.

Nouss Mazraoui and Ayden Heaven are also options, while Licha Martinez is still recovering from injury.

Wing backs and midfield

Amorim may be tempted to go cautious for this tricky away tie and play Diogo Dalot and Nouss Mazraoui as his wing backs, leaving the more attack-minded Amad and Patrick Dorgu on the bench. However, United are on a roll and Forest are struggling in the relegation zone, having not won a match since Gameweek 1. So the head coach will surely be tempted to stick with Amad, who is building an excellent relationship with Bryan Mbeumo on the right.

Dorgu’s dodgy substitute performance against Brighton, on the other hand, will not encourage Amorim to start him, so his trusty lieutenant Dalot is likely to continue on the left.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes will almost certainly continue in central midfield. Kobbie Mainoo and Manu Ugarte are other options.

Forwards

Another slight compromise the boss might make for an away tie is to bring Mason Mount back in at the expense of one of the forwards. Mount missed the Brighton game with a knock, but he was on the bench, so he is almost certainly going to be fully available this week.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are on fire at the moment so we think the former Chelsea man will replace Benjamin Sesko, with Cunha playing up top and Mount on the left.

Josh Zirkzee is also available but seems generally unfancied by the Portuguese coach.

Here, then, is our predicted XI for Saturday’s 3pm kick-off:
