Angelo Stiller is considered likely to leave VfB Stuttgart this summer, reports Christian Falk.
In that event, Manchester United are understood to be one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing him.
The midfielder has a £32.6m release clause included in his current contract with the Bundesliga side.
From a Bayern perspective, it’s never nice to see a talented prospect thrive at another club – even more so if that club is all the way across the English Channel in the Premier League.
“It was a difficult situation when Angelo Stiller first left Bayern Munich as an academy product. He left without a transfer fee as a young player, a Munich player – that was hard for Bayern to take!” Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“Of course, at the moment, they have Pavlović, Kimmich, Bischof, Laimer… they have a good midfield. So, I don’t think it’s a hard pill for Bayern to swallow if he ends up moving to another club again.
“There is a lot of interest in Stiller from the Premier League; Manchester United are concretely interested. The Red Devils were there last summer but didn’t clinch a deal because they came too late in the transfer window. But this could be a serious option for them this summer.”
However, the reality remains that, between the Bundesliga leader’s available options, they’re hardly short of supply in midfield.
It’s only going to get more difficult in that regard if the Bavarians are able to move Konrad Laimer back into midfield and if Kennet Eichhorn ends up in Munich.
You could forgive Stuttgart for wanting a more significant transfer fee for a player of Angelo Stiller’s calibre – particularly given that Premier League clubs are circling.
With that in mind, the German outfit can reportedly purchase the No.6’s release clause for a nominal fee, which would then allow them to raise his asking price.
Christian Falk went on to add: “The 25-year-old has a release clause in his contract (€37.5m [£32.6m]), but VfB Stuttgart can buy this option from Stiller (for an amount between €2m-4m). Then, they’d have the idea of selling the midfielder for €50m [£43.5m]. There are a lot of things that could happen, but I can say that there’s still a chance Stiller would leave Stuttgart in the summer.”
In Premier League terms, this shouldn’t be too significant a barrier for a club like Manchester United.
Especially not if the Red Devils manage to secure a return to Champions League football as they’re currently on course to do.
The 25-year-old is one of the more creative midfielders in the Bundesliga, ranking well among his peers for chance creation.

Even for a figure exceeding £32.6m, you’re looking at getting a potential bargain in Stiller this summer.
