Manchester United has confirmed the departure of Facundo Pellistri on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old’s time at Old Trafford ends after signing for Greek side Panathinaikos in a deal worth up to €8m.
However, according to The Athletic, Erik ten Hag’s side have a buy-back option for three years.
Pellistri had a handful of loan spells away from Manchester United at Deportivo Alavés and Granada. He made 25 appearances for the senior Red Devils and begins a new chapter looking for consistent playing time.
A Uruguay international, Pellistri reunites with Diego Alonso, former Uruguay manager between 2021 and 2023.
