Manchester United are interested in exploring a deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba in the January transfer window.

United have held an interest in the Cameroonian since the summer, but did not have the funds to complete a deal then.

According to Sky Sports, they are wanting to progress a move this January, but Brighton want to wait until next summer.

Brighton chairman Paul Barber said to talkSPORT this week: “We have no plans or desire to sell Carlos in this window or any future window. We know he’s a talented player and he’s got a lot of options ahead of him in the future.”

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is not interested in a proposed loan move to Charlotte FC in the MLS, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Elliott is currently on loan at Aston Villa but Unai Emery is not keen on the midfielder and he has only started one Premier League game this season.

The Englishman will not be able to play for another European club this campaign having already played for both Liverpool and Villa, which is why an MLS move was proposed. But Elliott does not want to play in America at this stage of his career.

Slaven Bilic could take over as manager at his former club West Ham if they decide to sack Nuno Espírito Santo mid-season, according to Ben Jacobs.

Santo has endured a torrid three months since taking over at the London club. He has overseen just two wins in 15 games and the Hammers are currently 18th in the league and four points adrift of 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

Fulham defender Issa Diop could be on his way to France with Paris FC interested, report L’Equipe.

Diop has been at Fulham for three years and made 86 appearances for the club. He is currently under contract until 2027 and the Cottagers are thought to be reluctant to let him go, especially with Calvin Bassey currently away at AFCON with Nigeria.
