Manchester United fans have been told to ‘keep an eye’ on the club’s potential pursuit of Antonee Robinson.

talkSPORT has named the Fulham star as INEOS’ first-choice alternative to Lewis Hall, with Newcastle United making it crystal clear that he is off limits this summer.

United identify Robinson as suitable Hall alternative

The Red Devils have established their interest in Hall and would even be willing to shell out up to £60 million to prise him from St. James’ Park, but Newcastle are prepared to rebuff any and every proposal that arrives.

As a result, United chiefs are considering turning their attention to USMNT international Robinson, who boasts over six years of Premier League experience with the Cottagers.

Why are United targeting Hall/Robinson?

United are in the market for a left-back to eventually succeed long-serving Red Luke Shaw in the setup at Old Trafford.

Patrick Dorgu is now viewed as more of a winger than a full-back, so Michael Carrick’s rotational options for Shaw would be natural right-backs Noussair Mazraoui or Diogo Dalot, as well as 19-year-old Harry Amass.

What’s more, Shaw’s contract only runs until June 2027, and there is no 12-month option in his terms, meaning he stands to leave as a free agent in less than a year’s time unless new terms are agreed.
