Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim reportedly wants the club to sign a new goalkeeper and striker this summer.
Concerns about the quality of the United squad have been amplified since Amorim's arrival in November, with the new boss winning just 14 of his 34 games across all competitions to date and repeatedly admitting his current crop of players are not best-suited to his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
Supporters are calling for a massive squad overhaul but United's transfer budget is likely to be dictated by outgoings. Several players are up for sale to raise some much-needed funds, with loanees Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho among the most obvious potential departures.
With the money they raise, the Manchester Evening News state United will look to reinforce Amorim's squad at both ends of his team sheet with a new goalkeeper and centre-forward.
The report claims Amorim wasted little time in recognising the need to bolster in goal and was calling for more competition for current starter Andre Onana within two months of his arrival at Old Trafford.

There have been countless links to new goalkeepers as United draw up a lengthy shortlist. A spectacular reunion with David de Gea has been touted, while recent reports have named Brighton's Bart Verbruggen and Eintracht Frankfurt's Kaua Santos. Royal Antwerp's Senne Lammens, who was linked with United during the January transfer window, has admitted his interest in speaking with the Red Devils.
Tom Heaton is expected to depart on a free transfer and Altay Bayindir, Onana's current back-up, is likely to leave in search of more regular minutes.
At the other end of the pitch, finding a reliable striker is a key priority for United regardless of what happens with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, both of whom have been linked with Serie A returns after disappointing campaigns.
Interest in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap has ramped up in recent weeks amid concerns over the costs of signing the likes of Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko. The English youngster is likely to be available for £30m if Ipswich are relegated from the Premier League.
Other moves could be dependent on United winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League. Southampton winger Tyler Dibling is a key target but his ambitious asking price of £100m means a deal will not even be considered without the income that comes with playing in Europe's premier club competition.
