Manchester United recently suffered their 12th league defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils once again lacked a cutting edge in the final third, and manager Ruben Amorim may want a new centre-forward in the next transfer window.
Turkish outlet Sabah claims that United are keeping tabs on Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who has been in superb form since his move from Sevilla.
The Morocco international had a tough start with Fenerbahce as he was regularly on the bench, but his performances have drastically picked up since October.
The £18 million-rated star has bagged 23 goals and four assists in 35 appearances this term.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have misfired in the Premier League this campaign, netting just five goals between them.
United need someone more reliable. En-Nesyri previously proved his credentials in La Liga before his surprise move to the Super Lig with Fenerbahce last year.
However, United are unlikely to sign him. It was recently highlighted that the club don’t want to purchase Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres due to his age.
Gyokeres will turn 27 in June this year, while En-Nesyri will be 28 during the same period.
The speculation is purely agent-driven. United’s name is probably being used to invite interest from other Premier League clubs ahead of the summer.
En-Nesyri would not suit Amorim’s system, considering he is a traditional striker. He is not known for his passing – a key attribute the manager wants in his number nine.
