PSG drew plenty of attention from English football last season as they captured the UEFA Champions League title. On their way to the final, the Parisians knocked out Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

The French club also tested itself against Premier League opposition in other competitions, facing Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final and Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup final. That exposure could make PSG an appealing destination for an English player considering a move abroad.

Although the 2026 summer transfer window is still some time away, clubs are already building extensive wishlists. PSG, in particular, might be eyeing a Premier League midfielder to strengthen their squad.

TEAMtalk reports that Manchester United are set to prioritize signing Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton over pursuing Brighton’s Carlos Baleba. Nonetheless, if this is the route the Red Devils take, there will be competition.

The development follows TBR Football’s recent report that Crystal Palace have accepted that Marc Guehi will leave in 2026, but they are eager to keep Wharton beyond this season.

Although the club acknowledges that a long-term stay for Wharton might be unlikely, they could offer a new contract to extend his tenure until 2027. The talented midfielder might command a fee approaching the triple-digit mark.

If Wharton chooses to leave, he would have plenty of options abroad, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and PSG all expressing interest in the 21-year-old.

“Whilst not putting a £100m price-tag on Wharton’s head,” TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey said. “Palace firmly believe they have a player on-par with anything in the world for his age, and I don’t think many would argue. Palace know when he does move he will command a significant fee.”
