Man Utd star makes return to action in friendly to give Carrick boost | OneFootball

Carlos Baleba has taken another step towards making his competitive Manchester United debut after featuring in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Carrington.

The summer signing from Brighton & Hove Albion played against Swiss side Lausanne-Sport as he continues to build his fitness following an injury he arrived at the club with.

United head coach Michael Carrick recently said Baleba was “pushing to get back as quickly as possible” as the midfielder worked his way towards full fitness, having yet to play for the club this season.

The 22-year-old was included in a United matchday squad for the first time in the 1-1 draw at Fulham before the international break, but remained an unused substitute.

Baleba has since continued his rehabilitation and conditioning work behind the scenes before getting his first minutes in a United shirt against Lausanne-Sport.

United are next in action against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford next Saturday, with Baleba hoping to put himself in contention for his competitive debut.
