Man Utd star seeking new agent after failed summer transfer – January exit inevitable?

Manchester United youngster Harry Amass is reportedly set to change agents for the second time in a few months, which could pave the way for a January departure.

The 19-year-old is a Watfordd youth product who joined MUFC in 2023. He made his senior debut under Ruben Amorim in the 2024/25 campaign.

Last season, the left-back enjoyed a solid spell at Sheffield Wednesday, where he was voted the Player of the Month on back-to-back occasions.

However, United opted to separate him from the free-falling Owls in January, sending him to fellow Championship side Norwich City. Sadly for Amass, his spell in Norfolk was cut short by a serious injury.

This summer, the teenager rejoined Michael Carrick’s ranks, making a few impressive appearances in pre-season.

Throughout the summer transfer window, Amass was said to be on the transfer list, with INEOS prepared to sell him for £6 million.

However, the club’s failure to acquire a new left-back may have affected the youngster’s future. United eventually opted to maintain his services due to the lack of options behind Luke Shaw.

In the latest edition of the Daily Mail’s Man United Confidential, journalists Chris Wheeler and Nathan Salt revealed that Amass is planning another agent switch.

In August, the Englishman had already ended his collaboration with his long-standing agent Jason Mac and joined M+C Saatchi Football.

However, the source believes this may have been a short-term move, with the full-back now on the lookout for a long-term partnership with a new agency.

The report thus reveals that several agents are trying to win the player’s favour. As for his next destination, it could be in the Championship, Germany, or the Netherlands, with several suitors keeping tabs on his situation.

Is Amass destined to leave Man United?

When Luke Shaw was out of action for three straight games, this was the golden opportunity for Amass to step up to the plate.

However, Carrick preferred to rely on Patrick Dorgu, who did fairly well against Champions League minnows Sabah, but followed it up with two poor displays in the defeats to Manchester City and Brighton.

Therefore, if Amass can’t get any playing time when Shaw is out of action, then what’s the point of keeping him at Carrington?

Unless his situation drastically changes in the coming months, Amass should be allowed to leave Man Utd and join a club willing to entrust him with an important role and allow him to develop his game.
