The Red Devils have brought in Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount so far this summer with Erik ten Hag’s side producing two poor performances in their opening two matches.

Man Utd were lucky to beat Wolves 1-0 in their opening-weekend clash at Old Trafford before losing 2-0 to Tottenham last Saturday.

There have been rumours that the Red Devils still need to sell before they can buy with the Premier League side spending a lot more than they’ve brought in this summer.

Ten Hag might have to settle for less than he needs with a centre-back – if Harry Maguire leaves – a midfielder and a striker on his wishlist, while he could sign a left-back if they right target becomes available after Luke Shaw’s injury.

There have been rumours previously that Ten Hag might opt to sell Wan-Bissaka this summer but the former England U-21 international is now part of his plans, starting both of their first two matches of the season and contributing an assist.

However, Football Insider claim that Man Utd ‘have asked Wolves about a swap deal involving’ Wan-Bissaka and Portugal international Semedo.

The report adds:

‘The Premier League giants are in the market for an attacking full-back on the right side of their defence and have been in touch with the Midlands club about potentially signing Semedo. ‘With Wolves running out of time to secure a replacement for the 29-year-old, United have suggested a swap between the Portuguese and Wan-Bissaka.’

Wan-Bissaka isn’t thinking about a move away from Man Utd with the 25-year-old relishing the opportunity to compete with Diogo Dalot for a starting berth at Old Trafford.

Speaking to the Man Utd official club website, Wan-Bissaka said: “I think it’s good for the both of us. It’s healthy, it pushes us to fight and give more and also that helps the team out as well.

“It helps so that a player doesn’t take a foot off the pedal. You just always know that someone wants your spot so you’ve got to give it your all.”

Reflecting on their start to the Premier League season, Wan-Bissaka added: “It’s not the start that we wanted. But at the end we got the result that we needed and we aim to push on from there.”
