Manchester United women's team manager Marc Skinner is hoping his club will recruit in the winter after the news of Celin Bizet Dønnum's pregnancy.

The Norwegian is expecting a baby in 2026 and will be out of action for around a year. In comparison, teammate Hannah Blundell missed the entire 2024/25 campaign with her pregnancy and has so far made two appearances off the bench this season.

Speaking about the news Skinner told the press: "Congratulations to [Aron Dønnum] and Celin, but from our perspective we will miss her," 

"Hopefully we will do some work in the transfer window to replace her."

Bizet's absence is a blow to United who already have a thin squad and that is especially true considering that the 24-year-old is also able to deputise at right-back.

So far, Bizet Dønnum has played 37 games for United in all competitions since joining from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, scoring six times and assisting eight.
