Martin O’Neill’s side made it four league wins out of four with a strong 3-0 victory over Aberdeen at Celtic Park tonight (Wednesday).

All the goals came in the first-half, with Camilo Duran, Benjamin Nygren and Yang all getting on the scoresheet.

And there were also second-half debuts for new signings, Oscar Sørensen and Shim Mheuka.

Speaking to CelticPlayer after the game, Martin O’Neill said: “I thought, overall, we played very well in the game.

"We defended moments when we had to and there was a big moment in the game when they headed against the bar just before half-time and we went down the field and scored.

“That makes it a good differential at that stage, but overall we played very well.”

And the manager was also delighted with performances throughout the team, praising Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his second start in consecutive games, the returning Callum McGregor and Liam Scales’ showing at left-back.

He was also pleased with two of his goalscorers in Camilo Duran and Yang.

Speaking of Camilo Duran, who netted his sixth goal as a Celtic with a stunning opener, Martin O’Neill said: “He's a class player, there's no question about it, and he's had some impact since he's arrived here at the club.

“But overall, I think that we're capable of scoring. Remember, Kasper's not in the side at this minute through injury.

“And it's nice to see us create chances as well. We could have maybe scored a couple of more goals, but we defended the big moments pretty well, and I thought that that was encouraging.”

And the manager also acknowledged that Yang’s impeding absence due to his involvement in the Asian Games with South Korea will be felt.

“We're going to miss him because he's away for a little while with South Korea,” he said. “He's been terrific since I stepped into the football club.

“I think he probably needed just a big boost of confidence and that's what he gets from us.”
