Here are the City player ratings as Manchester City cruised into the semi-final stage of the Carabao Cup with a 2-nil win over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium. Goals from Rayan Cherki and Savinho were enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to comfortably beat Keith Andrews’ Brentford side.
The City player ratings reflect Rayan Cherki’s spell-binding performance and they also highlight that a host of Manchester City’s fringe players put in good performances at the ideal time for Pep Guardiola’s side.
James Trafford-7.5/10: A good performance from Trafford. Made two great saves in the second half and his long ball delivery caught the eye.
Rico Lewis-7.5/10: An assured performance at right-back from Lewis. I really liked his game across the full 90 minutes. He defended really well and got into some good positions in the final third.
Abdukodir Khusanov-6.5/10: It was a tale of two halves from Khusanov. He was nervous in the first half and was fortunate to stay on the pitch. His second half performance was superb as he made a host of key challenges.
Nathan Ake-8/10: I thought Ake was superb. He defended superbly well and showed that he still has a role to play this season.
Nico O’Reilly-7.5/10: Another composed and quality performance from Nico O’Reilly.
Nico-7.5/10: A good performance from Nico. He broke up the play well in midfield and did everything well before being substituted.
Tijjani Reijnders-6.5/10: Had moments and linked Manchester City’s play well in midfield. I would’ve liked to see him do a bit more but he was solid in midfield.
Oscar Bobb-N/A: Oscar Bobb’s night only lasted 15 minutes before he was taken off after picking up an injury. That was a real shame for Bobb who needed a good performance tonight for his confidence.
Rayan Cherki-9/10: A fantastic display again from Cherki. His goal was spectacular and his flicks routinely broke open the Brentford defence.

Savinho-7.5/10: Scored a goal and I thought he put in a good performance. He was a constant threat to the Brentford defence and he tracked back well when required.
Divine Mukasa-6.5/10: He spent the game on either wing and had some nice touches but didn’t get into the game often enough. I will say that he looks right at home playing against seasoned professionals.
Phil Foden-7.5/10: Replaced the injured Oscar Bobb after 15 minutes. I thought Foden was superb as he linked up Manchester City’s possesion play and some of his combination play with Rayan Cherki was sublime.
Matheus Nunes-6/10: Slotted into midfield to give Nico a break.
Bernardo Silva-6/10: Did what he had to do after coming on.
Josko Gvardiol-6/10: Slotted in at left-back after coming on and went about his work well.
Charlie Gray-N/A: Not on long enough to mark but it was a special moment to see him make his first-team debut for Manchester City.
