Here are the City player ratings from Manchester City’s massive 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest at The City Ground today. Goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki were enough for City to see off a determined Nottingham Forest side at The City Ground.
The City player ratings reflect Manchester City’s performance. City weren’t at their best, but each player fought and scrapped for the cause and that is reflected in the ratings I gave for each Manchester City player.
Gianluigi Donnarumma-7/10: Made one big save and I thought Donnarumma did his job well in goal.
Matheus Nunes-7/10: Callum Hudson-Odoi kept Nunes on his toes defensively but I thought Nunes did well. Nunes was solid in possession as well as he continues his solid form.
Ruben Dias-7/10: Dias was fortunate to stay on the pitch and like Gvardiol he was given a hard time by Igor Jesus. But he did make several crucial defensive interceptions throughout the match.
Josko Gvardiol-7.5/10: Like Dias, Gvardiol had his hands full with the physicality of Igor Jesus. I thought Gvardiol was very good defensively and offered plenty in possession.
Nico O’Reilly-6.5/10: Omari Hutchinson gave O’Reilly a tough time at left-back. O’Reilly did stick to his task well at the back, although he wasn’t as good going forward today. What I liked about O’Reilly’s performance was that he never gave up the fight.
Nico-7/10: I liked Nico’s game as he broke up the play well, especially in the first-half. The game passed him by in the second half as Forest countered with pace. But I thought Nico went about his work well.
Bernardo Silva-7.5/10: I Bernardo Silva was a crucial contributor to ManchesterCity’s win. He never stopped working for his team, and while he did hack the ball away a little too often his overall play was crucial to City’s win.
Tijjani Reijnders-7/10: Reijnders took his goal well and his second-half performance was better than his first-half display. Unfortunately, he lost the ball on the edge of the area which led to the counter that saw Forest equalise. Despite that, I liked Reijnders’ game before he was substituted. He is growing as a City player and he is scoring goals which is a massive bonus for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Phil Foden-8/10: In the first half Foden gave away possession too often. But I thought he went up a gear in the second-half and was a vital contributor to Manchester City’s win.
Rayan Cherki-10/10: Cherki’s second-half performance was a sight to behold. He set up Tijjani Reijnders’ goal and his volley to give City a late lead was superb. Cherki is a match-winner and he showed that today.

Erling Haaland-6/10: Haaland lacked service today but he never stopped working and his defensive work at Nottingham Forest’s set-pieces was important in his team’s win.
Savinho-6/10: I didn’t mind Savinho’s game when he came off the bench. Was willing to get up and down the pitch for his team so that is a positive.
Nathan Ake-N/A: Not on long enough to mark.
