Manchester City are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers academy star Ty Livesey this summer, as per a recent report.
The 15-year-old attacking midfielder turned heads with his impressive performances last season, having registered over 100 goal contributions for Blackburn’s various academy sides over the years.
In addition to his on-pitch heroics, Livesey’s brisk progress, making his debut for Blackburn’s U18s at the age of 14, has established him as one of the most promising prospects in English football.
European giants target free summer transfer for Man City midfielder – Blues want contract renewal
Manchester City have been known for identifying and developing young talents, making long-term investments, especially in the past few seasons, and their director of football Hugo Viana is unlikely to miss out on this opportunity.
However, the Blues are not the only admirers of Livesey and their possible pursuit of the teenage starlet is not anticipated to be an easy one.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are the top contenders to acquire Livesey’s signature, according to a report by journalist Graeme Bailey.
The report suggests that these three Premier League giants are closely monitoring the Salford-born midfielder’s progress at Blackburn Rovers.
All three of these English clubs will also be under new management in the upcoming campaign, with Enzo Maresca set to be confirmed as Pep Guardiola’s successor at the Etihad Stadium, Michael Carrick’s first fresh season of taking charge of the Red Devils and Andoni Iraola being appointed as Liverpool’s new head coach.
With respect to his technical ability and creative attacking skills, which have led to significant contributions, Livesey stands out as a top transfer prospect, and the new managers are expected to push for his signing as an investment for the future.

City and United will be hoping to use the youngster’s roots in Greater Manchester to their advantage while making their respective moves to secure his services.
Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal are also interested in signing Livesey this summer, according to the aforementioned report.
Along with the London clubs, Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United are also suitors of the midfielder.
Blackburn, meanwhile, are reportedly keen on retaining their up-and-coming academy star and continuing his development within their academy structure.
However, they may have to part ways before he gets a chance to make his senior debut at Ewood Park, considering the heavy interest from prominent clubs.
Blackburn will not be able to offer Livesey a professional contract until he turns 17, giving Manchester City and other interested clubs a great chance to sign the young talent for a much lesser price, as they will only have to pay the Championship side compensation for training the player.
