According to NY Times, Manchester City have agreed a £116 million deal to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.

The fixed fee contains no add-ons and will be the highest ever for a British player, beating City's £100 million move for Jack Grealish in 2021.

The 23-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract, worth about £300,000 a week if all bonuses are met, with a 12-month option.

Anderson has been cleared for a medical in New York on Friday. He is currently with England at the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with a match at New York/New Jersey's MetLife Stadium on Saturday.

Forest had sought a fixed fee higher than the £125 million British record Liverpool paid Newcastle United for Alexander Isak last summer.

Anderson joined Forest from Newcastle in 2023 in a £35 million deal that sent Odysseas Vlachodimos to St James' Park with a valuation around £20 million, and valued the England international at £15 million.

He has made 92 appearances for Forest, featuring in every league game in 2025-26, and recorded four goals and four assists. He made his England debut in September, started against Croatia and Ghana at this World Cup, and is likely to do so again versus Panama on Saturday.
