According to French publication L’Equipe, Manchester City will pay €140 million to the Argentina International.
The 25-year-old has already informed Chelsea of his desire to leave the club after they failed to secure European qualification this season. Fernandez will reunite with his former manager, Enzo Maresca, at Manchester City.

He has been a key player for Chelsea since joining the club, and he should prove to be an exceptional addition to the Manchester City midfield. He will add control, creativity and goals from the middle of the park. The 25-year-old is at the peak of his career, and he could improve further with experience.
He will want to fight for major trophies regularly, and Manchester City can provide that opportunity.
Manchester City have been very active in the market this summer, and they have improved the midfield immensely. They have already paid in excess of €100 million twice on Elliot Anderson and Ayyoub Bouaddi. It is clear they are looking to build a midfield for the future.
Anderson will provide defensive cover, while Bouaddi will provide control and drive. They need more creativity and cutting edge in the middle of the park as well, and Fernandez should prove to be the ideal acquisition.

He is well settled in the Premier League, and he could make an immediate impact at Manchester City. The midfielder has already won major trophies at the international level, and he will look to fight for the league title and the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester City should be able to provide him with that platform.
