Manchester City and Newcastle United have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s massive Premier League fixture at St. James Park. Pep Guardiola’s side has been building ominously of late and will be eager to continue their impressive form. Eddie Howe’s side has struggled in the Premier League this season and enter today’s match in 14th position in the Premier League table. But they are a tough nut to crack in front of their passionate home support so a tough match awaits Pep Guardiola’s side.
Mateo Kovacic and Rodri will miss today’s match due to injury for Manchester City. Kovacic is sidelined for a considerable length of time due to a heel injury. The Croatian international has had surgery to correct the issue and is unlikely to return until late in the season. Rodri is yet to return to full fitness and City won’t take any risk with Rodri’s fitness.
Despite the absence of Mateo Kovacic and Rodri Pep Guardiola has a strong squad to choose from for today’s match. Here are the starting lineups for both teams ahead of today’s match.
Pep Guardiola has named an unchanged starting eleven from Manchester City’s 3-nil win over Liverpool which came before that international break. It seems that the City manager has found a formula that works and he hasn’t changed it for tonight’s match.
Starting lineup: Gianluigu Donnarumma, Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Nico O’Reilly, Nico, Bernardo Silva (C), Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki, Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland.
Substitutes: Trafford, Reijnders, Stones, Ake, Marmoush, Ait-Nouri, Savinho, Khusanov, Bobb.
