In a recent report, The Daily Mail mentioned that Manchester City are in the mix to recruit Chelsea winger Pedro Neto. It has been stated that the Mancunian outfit would have to compete with Liverpool and other clubs from Saudi Arabia in the race to sign the Portuguese talent this summer.

Neto’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Neto enjoyed a decent run of form at the West London club as he put in a string of impressive displays for them on the offensive end of the pitch. The 26-year-old participated in 52 matches for Chelsea last season, netting ten goals and securing ten assists in various competitions.

The Portuguese talent is currently one of the most talented wingers in the Premier League. Therefore, Man City would do well to bring him on board in this transfer period.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it difficult for the Mancunian club to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca Go For Neto This Summer?

Neto can use his quickness to get in behind the opponent’s backline and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He has got the vision to create a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The Portuguese talent can chip in by scoring and creating a lot of important goals for his team. Neto mainly plays as a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or function as a striker down the middle if required. He has already got a lot of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Man City.

We can expect Neto to inject more quality and depth into Enzo Maresca’s frontline. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team place at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

At 26, Neto’s peak years are ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Blues to pursue in this summer transfer window. He will also help Chelsea compete across all fronts over the next few years. Therefore, Maresca would be wise to go for someone with Neto’s skill set this summer.
