In a recent report, talkSPORT mentioned that Manchester City are keeping a keen eye on Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer. It has been claimed that the Mancunian giants are showing interest in recruiting the Argentine talent in this transfer period.

Mac Allister’s Inconsistent Season At Merseyside

Mac Allister struggled to find consistency for Liverpool in the previous campaign but managed to put in a run of influential performances at the heart of their midfield. The 27-year-old registered two goals and earned four assists in 37 matches for the Reds last season in the league.

The Argentina international is currently one of the most experienced central midfielders in the Premier League. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Mancunian club are hoping to bring him on board this off-season.

His current contract at the Merseyside club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Man City to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Mac Allister is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a good passer as well from midfield.

The Argentina international can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates up top. Mac Allister is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a holding midfielder or play in the number ten position if told to do so. He has a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City if they manage to snap him up this month.
