In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus stated that Manchester City are locked in a three-way battle for Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento. It is understood that the Mancunian giants would have to compete with Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to recruit the English defender next year.

Livramento’s Decent Run Of Form In English Football

Livramento is having an impressive campaign at the Tyneside club as he has put in a string of solid performances for them in the Premier League. The English talent has picked up one assist in 11 matches for the Magpies this season across various competitions.

The 23-year-old has performed his defensive duties well and deserves credit for making 11 tackles, three blocks, four interceptions and 22 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball accurately from the right flank, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.6% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at St. James’ Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Man City to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.

Will Livramento Be A Good Choice For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?

Livramento is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.

However, the English sensation has to find a way to add more goals and assists to his game. Livramento has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Mancunian club.

We can expect Livramento to add more quality to Man City boss Pep Guardiola’s defence. He is more than capable of securing a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 23, Livramento has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Man City to consider this winter or at the end of this campaign. He might even help the Mancunian giants compete for some major silverware in the future. All in all, Guardiola should focus on going all out to land him in 2026.
