In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus claimed that Manchester City are set to rival Liverpool for Real Sociedad full-back Jon Aramburu next year. It is believed that the Mancunian outfit are eyeing a move to bring the Venezuelan defender to the Etihad Stadium.

Aramburu’s Solid Campaign In La Liga

Aramburu enjoyed a decent run of form at the Spanish club in the previous campaign as he put in a string of solid displays for them on the right flank. The 24-year-old found the back of the net once in 42 matches for Real Sociedad last season in various competitions.

The Venezuelan talent is currently among the most talented right-backs in La Liga. Hence, Man City would do well to get a deal done for him next year.

His current contract at the Spanish club will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Mancunian club to land him on the cheap this winter or at the end of this campaign.

What Will Aramburu Add To Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca’s Side?

Aramburu is a tough-tackling full-back who can scan the danger well to make some crucial interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.

The Venezuelan sensation can even chip in by scoring the odd goal from the right flank. Aramburu mainly functions as a right-back but can also fill in as a left-back if required. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Man City manage to snap him up next year.

We can expect Aramburu to add more quality and depth to Enzo Maresca’s defence. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming years.
