Pep Guardiola and Manchester City head to the Arctic Circle this week for their penultimate fixture in the league phase of the Champions League.

The lengthy unbeaten run of the Etihad Stadium side came crashing down through a hugely lacklustre end on Saturday afternoon as they crumbled to a convincing home win for bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

In truth, the contest could have been a far more one-sided tale on the scoreline front, but Michael Carrick – in his first game in charge of the Red Devils – secured himself a 2-0 home win with three disallowed goals for offsides.

Second-half goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu put the outcome of the fixture beyond any doubt, and the introduction of late substitutions failed to inspire any sort of fightback from the Sky Blues.

Now, aiming to all but secure their place in the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League, Manchester City take on Bodo/Glimt in Norway off the back of their victory away at Real Madrid on matchday six.

Guardiola and his staff have opted for a change of routine for this contest, departing Manchester in the morning, taking on pre-match media duties in the evening, before training at Bodo/Glimt’s stadium to acclimatise and get a feel for the artificial surface that awaits them.

Now, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have confirmed a 21-man travelling party that left Manchester Airport on Monday morning destined for Norway ahead of the clash with Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday evening!

Defenders: Rico Lewis, Kian Noble, Max Alleyne, Abdukodir Khusanov, Nathan Ake, Stephen Mfuni, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Nico O’Reilly.

Midfielders: Rodri, Charlie Gray, Tijjani Reijnders, Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki, Divine Mukasa.

Forwards: Omar Marmoush, Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, Tyrone Samba.

Following confirmation of the 21-man travelling squad headed for Norway on Monday, 10 first-team stars are absent from Manchester City’s flight owing to a mixture of injury, suspension, registrations, and fitness.

Stefan Ortega Moreno remains away from the first-team group, whilst he is joined by an injured trio in defence of Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, and John Stones is missing the contest on the continent.

Moving into midfield and Oscar Bobb remains sidelined through injury, alongside Mateo Kovacic and Nico Gonzalez, whilst Matheus Nunes continues to recover from flu, and Bernardo Silva is suspended for the contest.

In the forward line, Savinho remains injured and is not expected back any time in the immediate future, whilst new January signing Antoine Semenyo is not registered to take part in the Champions League’s league phase.

Omar Marmoush is the notable return following his action with Egypt at the now-concluded African Cup of Nations.
