Manchester City defender Leila Ouahabi has signed a new two-year contract extension with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Cityzens this morning.

Ouahabi was set to be out of contract at The Joie Stadium at the end of the current season but the player has now agreed to remain with Manchester City until at least summer 2026.

The Spaniard joined Manchester City in summer 2022 after leaving FC Barcelona. Ouahabi has made 37 appearances for The Cityzens in all competitions. The player has been part of a Manchester City defence that has been breached on just eight occasions in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season.

Ouahabi’s Manchester City career is going from strength-to-strength and she will be hoping to continue to flourish with the club in the next two years.

After signing her new contract, Ouahabi said “I feel so comfortable playing here. For me, this is the best league.

“I’m really settled and think I’m a much better player. I love City’s style of play. The fans too – their support every day and every weekend keeps us competitive and improving every match.”

Manchester City return to action after the international break when they play host to Everton at The Joie Stadium on Saturday 2 March 2024.
