Manchester City kept the pressure firmly on Premier League leaders Arsenal after claiming convincing 3-0 away victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday evening continuing their early-season title chase.

Pep Guardiola’s side travelled to Selhurst Park for matchday 16 knowing there was little margin for error in the race at the top and they delivered composed, ruthless performance in London.

Haaland Leads the way at Selhurst Park

Erling Haaland once again proved decisive for City opening the scoring in the 41 minute to give the visitors deserved lead before the break.

Phil Foden doubled City’s advantage midway through second half in the 69 minute finishing off well-worked team move as Palace struggled to contain the champions attacking rhythm.

Haaland then sealed the result late on, calmly converting penalty in the 89 minute to complete his brace and underline City’s dominance on the night.

With his two goal, Haaland strengthened his position at the top of the Premier League scoring charts moving to 17 league goal for the season.

Across all competitions, the Norwegian striker has now recorded 23 goals & 3 assist in 22 appearances maintaining remarkable consistency and reaffirming his status as one of world football’s most lethal forwards.

City’s Winning run continues

The victory marked Manchester City’s fourth consecutive league win lifting them to 34 point and second place in the table.

The champions have now closed the gap on leaders Arsenal to just two points keeping the title race finely balanced.

Crystal Palace meanwhile remain fifth despite the defeat staying on 26 point after 16 matches.
