The injury is a real blow for Hemp who has been in excellent form for Manchester City in the early weeks of the season. The forward has scored three goals in 10 outings for The Cityzens in all competitions while she has played in important role in goal creation for her teammates.

Manchester City have now lost the services of two key players for the immediate future. Summer signing Vivianne Miedema is also currently sidelined after undergoing knee surgery. The player is said to have had a minor issue and is not expected to miss a large chunk of the season.

Manchester City are next in action on Thursday evening when they travel to Hammarby IF in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage.
