Manchester City remain in the market for a winger this summer, especially one that can play on the right-hand side. Savinho seems destined to sign for Tottenham at some point in the near future, so Enzo Maresca’s squad will need another winger added to its ranks. It has now been reported that Manchester City will target Palmeiras winger Allan Elias to replace Savinho. Allan Elias is an all-action winger who is strong on both sides of the ball. While he is a relatively unknown commodity due to the fact that he has spent his career in Brazil, it is easy to see why City would be interested in signing him when you dig a bit deeper.

David Ornstein, Mario Cortegana, Guillermo Rai and Sam Lee have reported for The Athletic that Manchester City are working on a deal to sign 22 year old right winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras. Furthermore, it is reported that Palmeiras maintain that Allan Elias isn’t for sale during this summer’s transfer window. It is also reported that Allan Elias has a €100 million release clause in his contract. Since breaking into the Palmeiras first team in 2025, Allan Elias has scored six goals and added five assists in 48 appearances in Brazil’s Serie A competition.

While not the ‘name’ signing that some may crave, Manchester City’s interest in Allan Elias does make sense given what his strengths are.

In terms of being a player that Manchester City are linked to that jumps of the page, Allan Elias isn’t exactly that. He has spent his entire career at Palmeiras in Brazil. He doesn’t have any proven pedigree in Europe, however on closer inspection, his strengths could be suited to playing on the right wing for an Enzo Maresca side.

First of all, Allan Elias is a tricky winger who primarily plays on the right wing and cuts inside onto his left foot. He is quick and has the ability to play in multiple positions. Allan Elias can play on either wing, as an attacking midfielder and can play in a more central role in midfield if required. In terms of his playing style, Allan Elias is an aggressive dribbler who thrives taking on a full-back in wide positions. Given how Enzo Maresca’s system is set up for wingers to have as many one-on-one situations to exploit, Allan Elias is certainly capable of fulfilling that particular duty.

Out of possession, Allan Elias is a tireless worker for his team. He isn’t afraid to get stuck into a duel and track back to help Palmeiras when they don’t have possession. He is adept at winning duels so in terms of his work out of possession, Allan Elias has the traits needed to be a workhorse for an Enzo Maresca side.

Allan Elias is the latest winger to be named as a potential target for Manchester City. The 22 year old isn’t a big name so to speak, but his strengths do line up with what Enzo Maresca would want for a winger. In terms of being an upgrade on Savinho, that isn’t immediately clear. However, Allan Elias does fit the profile of an Enzo Maresca winger.
