Manchester City are continuing their preparations for their UEFA Champions League knockout play-off second-leg tie against Real Madrid. Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to overturn a 3-2 deficit at the Bernabeu. A tough task awaits Pep Guardiola’s in Madrid. They have trained today ahead of tomorrow night’s match. There appears to be good news for Manchester City on the injury front ahead of the must-win match. A host of City’s players who were in doubt for the match have been pictured training.

The opening 15 minutes of Manchester City’s training session was broadcast on mancity.com. Jack Grealish, Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias all joined City training this morning. Erling Haaland also trained ahead of the crucial Champions League fixture. Haaland’s availability isn’t a surprise. He did appear to avoid injury during the closing stages of City’s 4-nil win over Newcastle.

But the sight of Grealish, Ake and Dias training is welcome news for Manchester City. All three players did appear to be in doubt for the match at the Bernabeu. Grealish went off injured during the first-leg defeat to Real Madrid at the Etihad. He didn’t play against Newcastle on Saturday. But it does seem that he is available for selection for tomorrow night’s match.

Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias both weren’t selected in City’s matchday squad for the win over Newcastle. But given the fact that they both trained today it does appear that they will be available for the must-win match. That does bolster Pep Guardiola’s defensive options for the challenge of curtailing the star studded Real Madrid attack.

A further update on the condition of the Manchester City squad is expected when Pep Guardiola fronts the media later today. But for now it does appear that City have received a boost ahead of the match.
