Officials at Manchester City could attempt to sign Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior this summer, according to new claims.
The pursuit of the Ballon d’Or-level forward develops at a transitional period for the reigning FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders, following big-name departures formalised at the end of last season including Bernardo Silva and John Stones exiting as free agents.
As such, significant structural wage flexibility has emerged, as well as openings in the starting line-up, leaving sporting director Hugo Viana with the possibility of bringing in younger, dynamic names to attempt to wrestle the Premier League title from Arsenal.
Among the primary names being targeted by Manchester City is Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, who is expected to come at a cost in excess of £120 million as a total package, with two bids already rejected by owner Evangelos Marinakis this summer.

Now, according to claims from Indykaila, Manchester City are gearing up to make a move for Real Madrid and Brazil international Vinícius Júnior, seeing an ‘opportunity to bring in a game-changing talent’.
It is suggested that those at City are ‘serious about testing the waters’, and are seemingly intent on securing an ‘elite superstar’ this summer – whether that be the Bernabeu star or another profile.
While Florentino Pérez‘s side would naturally resist approaches for their talismanic No.7, the presence of Kylian Mbappé has created confidence within their forward line that a post-Vinicius era would not be so problematic at the Bernabéu.
Checks will determine the player’s posture regarding a potential move this summer while he spearheads Brazil’s FIFA World Cup campaign, and it remains to be seen whether the finances remain available for a move of such magnitude beyond Elliot Anderson’s expected arrival.
Should a move fail to materialise, Hugo Viana and City recruitment staff are still expected to move for a new winger this summer, particularly as Tottenham continue to pursue a permanent deal for Savinho – having had interest pushed back last summer.
