In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester City have identified Roma full-back Wesley as a target. It is understood that the Mancunian giants are showing interest in recruiting the Brazilian defender next summer.
Wesley has caught the eye at times with his performances on the right side of Roma’s backline this season. The Brazilian talent has participated in 29 matches for the Italian outfit in this campaign so far, scoring three times and earning one assist across all competitions.
The 22-year-old is currently among the best young full-backs in Serie A. Therefore, it is no surprise that Man City are trying to get a deal done for him this summer.
His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for the Mancunian giants to consider at the end of this campaign.

Wesley is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the offensive.
The Brazilian talent can even shoot the ball with venom from long range and can engineer the odd chance for others around him from the right flank. Wesley is primarily a right-back but can also play as a right-sided wide player if required. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if Man City manage to sign him this summer.
Wesley would add more quality to Pep Guardiola’s defence. He is more than capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming years.
At 22, the future looks quite bright for Wesley as long as he continues to improve with each season. He might even help the Mancunian giants compete for some major honours over the next few years. With all things considered, Guardiola should focus on moving in for the Brazilian talent at the end of this campaign. However, Man City would have to be patient with his progress before they can get the best out of the player.
