Pep Guardiola has been a keen viewer of the general public perception of his Manchester City team selections on social media platform X, as per a new report.
The Catalan bid farewell to City over Sunday – when he managed his last game in sky blue against Aston Villa – and Monday, when an open bus parade and Co-op event saw fans, current and former players come together to say goodbye to Guardiola.
City have agreed a three year contract with former EDS and first-team assistant coach Enzo Maresca to succeed Guardiola, who delivered an emotional speech to the Etihad Stadium faithful after his 593rd game in charge of the Blues on Sunday.

Social media tributes have poured in for the departing 55-year-old, who has expressed his pride at the club renaming the newly-developed and expanded North Stand at the Etihad Stadium as ‘The Pep Guardiola Stand’, with a statue of the six-time Premier League champion also commissioned outside the stadium.
Several in-depth features have come out of the English press since the confirmation of Guardiola’s exit last week, with the Manchester City manager clicking a photo with the press pack after his last pre-match press conference on Friday.
Now, as per a wide-ranging feature from Mail Sport’s Jack Gaughan on the Catalan’s 10-year stay in Manchester, while it has never been confirmed whether Guardiola has a ‘burner account’ on X, he has been seen sitting in restaurants around Ancoats square scrolling the app.
The Catalan’s obsession with what the general public say about his Manchester City team selections is said to ‘point in particular to the work of a doom scroller’.
There has never been any official confirmation on Guardiola having a burner account on X, though there have been too many instances of the Catalan being too versed with what is being said about him and his side to deny what seems to be the inevitable.
Guardiola admitted in an interview with CBS Sports in the aftermath of his side’s 2023 UEFA Champions League final win over Inter Milan in Istanbul that he watched some clips of their show on Twitter (now X).

The Manchester City manager has also made remarks in press conferences over the years that indicate he has some incognito presence on X to stay up to date with the public perception of his side – in addition to his official account on the platform.
