Paul Joyce has reported for The Times that despite Liverpool having announced the signing of Bradley Barcola from PSG, they will not sanction the sale of Gakpo unless they can sign another winger. Joyce adds that Gakpo will be asked to fight for a place in Andoni Iraola’s starting lineup if they cannot sign another winger.

Fabrizio Romano has backed up Paul Joyce’s report. Romano adds that Gakpo would be happy to stay at Liverpool if they cannot sign another winger. It has also been reported by Romano that Cody Gakpo has agreed personal terms with Manchester City. As per Romano’s report, Liverpool are hoping to sign Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr before the transfer window closes.

Manchester City have run the risk of moves falling over by leaving it so late in the transfer window to complete their business.
