According to Portuguese outlet A Bola (h/t SPORT), Bernardo Silva has informed Manchester City of his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.

Barcelona the priority for Bernardo

With his exit now a mere formality, Bernardo Silva has multiple offers on the table, but his priority after 30 June is clear. His preference is to continue his career in La Liga and fulfil a long-standing ambition of playing for Barcelona.

As such, the Portuguese international is prepared to do everything possible to secure a move to Barcelona. Represented by agent Jorge Mendes, he is working within a defined timeframe while awaiting clarity from sporting director Deco.

Barcelona, for their part, must first outline their transfer plans ahead of the 2026/27 season and assess whether Silva can be accommodated tactically and financially within the squad.

This is not a straightforward task, given the current depth in attacking midfield and right wing, but Silva is willing to wait to determine whether the move is feasible.

What are Silva’s other options?

Silva’s preference remains a move to Camp Nou after 30 June. However, alternative scenarios are being considered should the transfer not materialise.

Juventus have made an approach and are prepared to offer a three-year contract with annual earnings between €7-8 million. Galatasaray in Turkey are also an option for the versatile midfielder.

Meanwhile, Silva has received interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia as well as Major League Soccer, specifically from Inter Miami.

For now, all options remain open. The immediate focus is on the ongoing discussions between Jorge Mendes and Deco. If negotiations progress positively, Silva’s long-held ambition of playing at Barcelona could become a reality.
