Manchester City have opened talks with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (26), according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. The Italy international goalkeeper is pushed towards the exit door in the French capital. PSG and Donnarumma have failed in their attempt to find an agreement over a contract renewal for the 26-year-old goalkeeper, who played a crucial role in Les Parisiens‘ run to their maiden Champions League title.
PSG then proceeded to sign Lucas Chevalier (23) from Ligue 1 rivals Lille OSC in a €55m deal. The Champions League winners have reportedly promised Chevalier that he would be the undisputed starter between the sticks, as shown by Donnarumma’s omission from the squad that will face Tottenham Hotspur for this Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup showdown.
PSG intend to part ways with Donnarumma as soon as possible. Now, RMC Sport reports that Manchester City are monitoring the Italian’s situation in the event of Ederson’s exit. The Brazilian international is also entering his final contract year. The Cityzens have also opened talks with Donnarumma’s entourage and the former AC Milan Academy product is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League side.
