CFG’s meteoric rise as a global football business and portfolio of clubs across the world has now seen them establish themselves are one of the most formidable forces within the game, and that standing is now recognised within the club itself.

Speaking at the end of the last campaign, Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak explained, “City Football Group is no longer a test of viability.”

He continued, “It’s now a fully functional operating sports and entertainment machine that continues to grow from strength-to-strength and is sought after to be partnered from everywhere, east, west, north, south.

“This is where we are today. We are premier. We are pioneers in what we’ve achieved.”

But as is the case with Manchester City and their approach to squad improvement and infrastructure redevelopment across the Etihad Campus, City Football Group continue striving for the very best up and coming names within the game.

Now, as per the information of transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, Luciano Rodriguez is set to join City Football Group side Bahia in Brazil, with a deal signed for the Uruguayan international talent.

It is detailed that relevant documentation to sign the player is now ready and set to be signed with Liverpool of Uruguayan capital city Montevideo, alongside a final transfer fee of $11 million for 70 per cent of the player’s rights.

There is a common plan within the City Football Group that players who enter into the business’ portfolio of clubs ultimately stand a chance of progressing into Manchester City’s side, should their performances and development warrant such a promotion.

Savinho has become the latest example of a player to have successfully reached Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad, having initially joined the project of ESTAC Troyes in France, before taking on loan deals at PSV Eindhoven and Girona.

Having experienced a breakout season in La Liga last campaign, driving Girona to their first ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League due in 2024/25 and securing a place in Brazil’s national team, the 20-year-old is now set to play a significant role for Manchester City.

The Premier League champions sanctioned an initial £21 million transfer fee to recruit Savinho from Troyes, with the deal rising to a potential total of £33.6 million depending on add-ons, whilst the player penned a five-year agreement at the Etihad Stadium.
