Rayan Cherki can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sidelined since late August due to a thigh muscle injury, Manchester City’s new signing rejoined the squad for training this Tuesday. According to the Manchester Evening News, his return is seen as a positive sign, even raising hopes for a possible comeback as early as this week—either in the Champions League on Wednesday or in the Premier League on Sunday against Brentford.

Having joined from Olympique Lyonnais this summer, Cherki has yet to showcase his full range of skills under Pep Guardiola. His integration into the Citizens’ squad is still a work in progress, and this quick return could provide him with his first real opportunity to make an impact. However, caution is warranted: muscle injuries often require careful management, and the medical staff will not take any unnecessary risks.

Meanwhile, another key player also made his return to training: Rodri. After sustaining a knee injury and missing the match against Burnley, the Spanish international took part in the team session, though his participation against Monaco in the Champions League remains uncertain. As City battles on all fronts, the strength of their squad will depend on smart management of their key assets. With senior players gradually returning and new signings being integrated, Guardiola will have to juggle fitness levels to maintain the momentum from an already promising start to the season.
