Savinho has now informed Manchester City of his clear desire to leave the football club this summer, it has been revealed.
The 22-year-old has been a long-standing transfer target for North London side Tottenham, and whilst a move to Roberto De Zerbi’s side was expected to develop swiftly this summer, no such operation has been finalised to date.
Having returned to Manchester City training under Enzo Maresca within the last week, reports regarding Spurs’ interest has been maintained, with some suggesting that a hold-up in a possible agreement has been down to City’s need for a direct replacement.
Among the names tentatively linked with Manchester City interest for the wide roles have been Chelsea’s Pedro Neto, Paris Saint-Germain’s Ibrahim Mbaye, and Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi, although neither have progressed beyond media speculation.

Now, according to the exclusive information of Fabrizio Romano, Savinho has informed Manchester City of his clear desire to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The Brazilian is said to want to play more and develop in his career, with the player’s future now firmly in the hands of transfer officials at the City Football Academy.
It is further highlighted that Premier League rivals Tottenham have had Savinho at the very top of their list when it comes to reinforcing the attacking positions of Roberto De Zerbi’s playing squad before the 2026/27 season.
It remains to be seen whether Savinho will be included in Manchester City’s travelling squad for their pre-season tour of Hong Kong and South Korea, with Enzo Maresca expected to announce that list on Tuesday afternoon.
City are scheduled to take on three pre-season friendlies in the next fortnight against Inter, K-League All-Stars, and Atletico Madrid across their two destinations, before returning ahead of the FA Community Shield against Arsenal on Sunday 16 August.
Savinho and his representatives are likely to maintain dialogue with Tottenham in the meantime, and personal terms as part of a contractual agreement are unlikely to be a problem for either party.
