The summer of 2025 was a busy one for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola, as the 54-year-old reshaped and freshened up first-team options available to him at the Etihad Stadium, and we saw plenty of players move on with some highly-rated, lesser known talents arrive.
With so many changes, it was always going to take a little bit of time for the squad to get on board with Guardiola’s wants and for new relationships and understandings to be struck up.
But as the club edge towards the end of the November international break, Guardiola’s team sit in second in the top-flight table, and with seven wins and a draw from the opening 11 matches, there is only a four-point deficit to current leaders Arsenal in top spot.
For those fans who like a flutter on many sports like horse racing, rugby and football and use bank transfer betting sites for their enjoyment, they would be very pleased with Manchester City’s progress at this point of the campaign.Given the changes that took place in the summer, it has been well reported there is more Pep Guardiola wants to do as he looks to rebuild the side once again, and whilst there will likely only be departures in the winter window, City are being linked with potential moves for some interesting prospects come the end of the campaign.
One of those players is Eintracht Frankfurt’s defensive talent Nathaniel Brown. The 22-year-old left-back has recently earned a second international cap for Germany, and having come through FC Nurnberg’s youth ranks – and being briefly loaned back – he has started establishing himself this season following his transfer in 2024.
Should Pep Guardiola wish to make a move for him in future, the speculation rumour mill has City facing significant competition for his signature, with a number of clubs tracking him, and press reports referencing the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid as sniffing around his services.
In many ways the original claims emanating from German outlet Bild are standard for quieter international windows, but there is no denying the player’s stock is on the rise. And as he continues to impress in the Bundesliga and Champions League, the fact he is now breaking through into the German set up is only going to keep him in and around the headlines.
Obviously, Manchester City already share a relatively decent business relationship with Eintracht Frankfurt following previous dealings through the January transfer of talisman Omar Marmoush.
The 26-year-old Egyptian international was signed for a bumper fee of £59 million at the turn of the year and across spells at both clubs in the 2024/25 campaign, he returned a very impressive 42 goal contributions in the games that he played.
That could well see the Etihad Stadium outfit hold a significant advantage here should the club choose to progress matters further and attempt to bring in yet another highly-rated talent to the club for future development.
