Manchester City are targeting an ambitious summer move for Elliot Anderson (23) from Nottingham Forest, according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri. The England international midfielder could cost the Premier League club a fee in excess of £100m.
City have sent scouts to watch the former Newcastle United midfielder on more than 10 occasions this season, ahead of a potential move to Manchester. The Englishman has impressed since he arrived in Nottingham and, under the management of Thomas Tuchel, has become a mainstay with the Three Lions. Anderson has received 6 caps for England since the German coach took charge.
Given the Manchester club’s strong interest in the 23-year-old’s services, Pep Guardiola’s side may look to accelerate their advances for the Nottingham Forest player and make a move in January. However, it appears unlikely that a move in the winter would materialise with the player focused on the World Cup, Tavolieri understands.
