Chelsea booked their place in the final after a 1-0 win against Leeds United on Sunday. Enzo Fernandez scored the decisive goal at Wembley to ensure Chelsea will return to the venue for next month’s decider.
Calum McFarlane now has the chance to win a major trophy, having been placed in interim charge of Chelsea until the end of the season.
Manchester City await the West Londoners at Wembley. The Citizens came from behind to beat a stubborn Southampton side 2-1 on Saturday evening, courtesy of Nico Gonzalez’s stunning winner. Pep Guardiola’s side have reached a record-breaking fourth consecutive FA Cup final, but have lost their previous two finals.
City are in pursuit of a domestic cup double, having won the League Cup in March. Guardiola’s side are also in contention for the Premier League title, with ambitions of only the second domestic treble in English football history.
Chelsea are also aiming to improve a poor recent record in the FA Cup final. The Blues lost three consecutive FA Cup finals between 2020 and 2022.
The 2026 FA Cup final between Manchester City and Chelsea will take place on Saturday May 16th at Wembley Stadium, London. Kick-off in the capital is scheduled for 3pm BST.
The FA Cup final will be available to watch live in the UK on TNT Sports, HBO Max, BBC One and iPlayer. International broadcasters will be confirmed ahead of the fixture. Comprehensive radio coverage will be provided by BBC Radio 5 Live and talkSPORT.
