Manchester City are considering putting in a formal bid for the signing of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to Talksport.

With Ruben Dias ruled out for over a month with a hamstring injury and Josko Gvardiol out for the majority of the season because of a broken tibia suffered against Chelsea last week City are in need of reinforcements in defence.

Max Alleyne was recalled from his loan spell at Watford early and started wins against Exeter City and Newcastle.

Talksport say that Crystal Palace have set an asking price of over £35 million but City are unlikely to bid that much for Guehi this January.

Elsewhere, if Guehi does not leave Crystal Palace this winter Sky Sports Germany reports that Bayern Munich are interested in bringing him in on a free transfer this summer.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports reports that Crystal Palace are confident that they can agree a deal to bring in Sidiki Cherif from Angers.

The 19-year-old forward is willing to join Palace, so if a club-to-club agreement can be reached the deal is expected to move quickly.

Former Tottenham man Eric Dier has been of interest to West Ham, but the Daily Mail understand that the Englishman is reluctant to leave France for London at the moment.

Finally, Nottingham Forest have made an enquiry for Bournemouth winger Marcus Tavernier but the Cherries do not plan to sell, say the Daily Mail.

Antoine Semenyo has already left the club this January window so Bournemouth will be keen to keep hold of Tavernier.
