The EFL board has turned down Pep Guardiola's request concerning Marc Guéhi. Despite Manchester City's desire to count on the defender for the Carabao Cup final, the governing body has confirmed that no regulatory changes will be made.
The rules had already been relaxed at the start of the season, allowing a player to feature for multiple clubs in the competition, provided this occurred before the first leg of the semi-final. This provision notably makes Antoine Semenyo eligible.
As a reminder, the League Cup final will see Arsenal, the Premier League leaders, face off against Manchester City, their closest challengers, at Wembley. The date and time are yet to be officially announced.
