Manchester City will look to continue their strong recent form on Saturday when they host an Everton side buoyed by a dramatic late victory last time out.
Pep Guardiola’s side are currently unbeaten in seven games. However, they have been dealt a major blow with the loss of key midfielder Rodri. Everton, conversely, arrive in good spirits but must contend with two major issues: the loss of their own star player and a dreadful historical record at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola has suffered a huge blow, as he must cope without the influential Rodri, who is ruled out with a thigh injury. However, the manager has been boosted by the news that Omar Marmoush and Rayan Aït-Nouri are both back in training and close to a return. Up front, Erling Haaland is fresh after receiving extra rest during the international break.
The visitors will be without their match-winner from last week, Jack Grealish, as he is ineligible to face his parent club. Furthermore, defenders Michael Keane and Merlin Rohl are doubts, while Jarrad Branthwaite is also unlikely to feature despite returning to training. On a positive note, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is back in contention after serving his suspension.
City are in excellent form. In fact, they have gone seven games unbeaten across all competitions since their back-to-back defeats in August. They are also the top scorers in the Premier League in 2025 and will be confident of extending their incredible 16-match unbeaten run against Everton.
The Toffees have enjoyed a solid start to the season, winning six of their last ten league games. However, they face a huge historical challenge. Their manager, David Moyes, has never won a Premier League away game against a side that finished in the previous season’s top three across his entire career, a run that now spans 36 matches.
Manchester City predicted XI: Donnarumma; Stones, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Nico; Bernardo Silva, Foden, Reijnders, Doku; Haaland
Everton predicted XI: Pickford; Coleman, O’Brien, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Dibling, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndiaye; Beto
The match will not air live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm Saturday blackout.
