Manchester City will take on Brighton today at the Amex Stadium with several attacking players ruled out of the match due to injury. Savinho and Rayan Cherki are ruled out of today’s match. It has been reported that Phil Foden will also miss the match against Brighton. Pep Guardiola’s side will have to beat Fabian Hurzeler’s side with a host of creative weapons out of their lineup.

Phil Foden will miss today’s match in a blow for Manchester City.

CityXtra has relayed a report from prominent X account FPLMaineRoad that Phil Foden has been ruled out of today’s match due to an unspecified injury. Currently, it is unknown how long Foden will be out of action for. But his absence is a blow for Manchester City, who are looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola does have options to cover the absence of Cherki and Foden.

The loss of Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden to injury is a blow for Pep Guardiola’s side. The pair do figure to be prominent players for Manchester City this season. While the pair’s loss is a blow for today’s match, there are options to cover their absence in the Manchester City squad.

Omar Marmoush could play centrally to cover the loss of Foden and Cherki. The Egyptian international does do his best work in a more central position. He could play behind Erling Haaland against Brighton today. Bernardo Silva could replace Cherki in the starting lineup from last weekend’s match against Tottenham. The City captain could provide creativity and energy in midfield for Pep Guardiola’s side. Tijjani Reijnders is another player who can add goals and drive from midfield.  The possibility that a player like Divine Mukasa could slot into a creative role for Manchester City today is another possibility.

Phil Foden will join Rayan Cherki and Savinho on the sidelines for today’s match against Brighton. It is a blow for Pep Guardiola’s side, but there are options to cover the absence of three of Manchester City’s attacking weapons for today’s match.
