In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Manchester City would have to pay £100m if they want to land Chelsea star Pedro Neto this summer. It is believed that the Mancunian giants are facing competition in the form of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Portuguese wide player this month.

Neto’s Impressive Record In English Football

The 26-year-old enjoyed a productive campaign at the West London club recently as he managed to put in a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. Neto participated in 52 matches for Chelsea last season, netting ten goals and picking up ten assists in all competitions.

The Portugal international is currently among the most talented wingers in the Premier League. Hence, it is no wonder that Man City are trying to get him on board this off-season.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2031. Thus, the Mancunian giants have no choice but to meet Chelsea’s asking price if they want to land Neto in this transfer period.

What Should Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca Do With Regards To Neto?

Neto has the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out on the flanks. He has the vision to engineer some promising chances for others around him inside the opponent’s half.

The Portuguese sensation is a decent dribbler and can shoot the ball with power from long range. Neto has proven himself to be a reliable performer in the Premier League. He is primarily a right-winger but can also serve as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if needed.

We can expect Neto to add more quality and depth to Man City head coach Enzo Maresca’s frontline. He is capable of fighting with Antoine Semenyo for a regular first-team place at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.

At 26, Neto’s best years are ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for Man City to pursue before the end of this transfer window. He will also help the Premier League giants compete for some major honours over the next few years. Thus, Maresca would be wise to launch a convincing offer for Neto soon.
