Manchester City’s injury crisis has deepened at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight. Two more players have gone down injured during tonight’s clash with Tottenham. The world champions now appear to have 8 players currently injured with Manuel Akanji and Savinho added to the injury list.

Firstly, Manuel Akanji picked up a reported calf injury during the warm-up before tonight’s match. CityXtra reported via X that the Swiss international went down in the warm-up. He was replaced by Ruben Dias in the City starting lineup.

But the news would get worse in the second half of the match. With Manchester City chasing the game at 2-1 down Brazilian winger Savinho went down with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury. The young winger had a great first half where he set up Matheus Nunes goal in the first half. But his night would end with the Brazilian winger in tears and being stretchered off after appearing to hurt his ankle in an innocuous challenge.

Manchester City’s injury crisis now appears to have gone beyond tipping point. Pep Guardiola’s side couldn’t afford to lose any more players with six players currently sidelined. But it now appears that Manuel Akanji and Savinho will join the Manchester City injury list. A further update on the pair is expected when Pep Guardiola fronts the media following the game.
